Bell Lager breathes new life into Fun Factory’s Comedicine

Bell Lager has announced sponsorship of Fun Factory’s weekly Thursday night comedy show now named “Comedicine”. Speaking at the joint announcement, Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL) National Promotions Manager, Roy Ronald Tumwizere said the brewery had also worked with Fun Factory to make the weekly show fresh and more exciting for comedy lovers.

The show will now feature a 30 minute live acoustic music experience in the theatre foyer before people go into the auditorium to laugh their ribs off. This musical experience will feature fresh talents such as Jackie Akello, Kenneth Mugabi, Herbert Sensamba and Happy Kisakye.

“We believe audience perceptions change over time because of exposure. We now are dealing with a demanding breed of mobile fun-loving ‘Kampalans’ on a weekly basis and so, we have resolved to re-invent the Thursday nights into a more interactive experience with wider variety. We are undertaking this game changing phase with Bell Lager as our main sponsors,” said Richard Tuwangye.

At this launch, UBL continued with the ongoing Tubbaale promotion and a number of lucky winners walked away with prizes courtesy of Bell Lager. The spin wheel session saw people win goodies such as power banks, headphones, flash disks and beer. The grand prize, a 32 inch Samsung flat screen TV, was given away by the comedians at the end of the night through a raffle courtesy of Bell Lager.

“This year UBL celebrates its 70 year anniversary which is a huge milestone for us. We are celebrating this achievement with our customers which is the reason behind the Tubbaale beer celebration with Uganda’s oldest beer, Bell Lager. Fun Factory has cracked our ribs for 8 years and as an authentic Ugandan brand, we are pleased to be partnering with an activity such as this one that celebrates and recognizes authentic Ugandan talent and the unique arts and great local talent Uganda has to offer,” said Tumwizere.

In addition to the music experience, Fun Factory has also added a segment called “Finding the Funny” hosted by comedians Richard Tuwangye and Anne Kansiime during which fresh comedy talent will be show cased.
