DStv Rewards Outstanding Performers from the Uganda Swimming Federation Interclub National Championship

Following the successful inaugural DStv USF Interclub National Championship which was recently held at KISU, DStv has further rewarded the outstanding performers who were recognised in the different categories at the gala. The overall individual winners in different age categories walked away with DStv memorabilia for their outstanding performance.
Speaking at the handover ceremony Tina Wamala, PR Manager MultiChoice Uganda said “These athletes outdid themselves at the recent gala and we felt we could further motivate them to continue challenging their fellow competitors by setting the bar high which will ultimately elevate swimming as a sport”.
Amongst the recipients of the prizes were Tendo Kaumi (11), Daya Yolanda (12), John Kafumbe (10), Yonah Lumonya (9), Hannah Kyanda (10, Swabaiah Mubiru (11), Mathew Mwase (9), Manzi Musoke (9), Heather White (10), Ruben White (12).

Dr Donald Rukare, President of the USF stated ‘We are extremely proud of the strides these athletes have made in improving their skills by training hard and always coming out tops in the different heat races. We are grateful to our partners DStv for recognising them even more and encouraging their protégés to work hard so that they too can get rewarded in the future’
The next DStv USF gala is slated for October when the clubs compete in the Independence Gala.

From his school days, Innocent Kawooya served as Head Prefect, Head Boy, Chairman of Writers and Debating Clubs, where he developed a deep passion for storytelling, journalism, public speaking, and influence. Since then, he has written and contributed to hundreds of thousands of articles, stories, opinion pieces, digital campaigns, and media publications focused on technology, finance, entrepreneurship, innovation, healthcare, entertainment, and social transformation across Africa. He is widely recognised as one of the pioneers of Africa’s digital media and social networking space, having co-led the development of HiPipo.com, probably Africa’s earliest social networking platform. Through the platform, he helped shape digital conversations and online communities across the continent at a time when social media adoption in Africa was still in its infancy. Over the last two decades, Innocent has championed major initiatives in digital financial services, healthcare innovation, renewable energy, youth empowerment, media, and creative industries.
