As the countdown to the 2018 World Cup draws near the excitement and tension around the world is escalating. MultiChoice, Uganda’s leading pay television provider has launched an exciting campaign for both its DStv and GOtv customers.

The campaign presents an all exciting offer for the season including pop-up channels with past and present World Cup content and many prizes to be won.

While addressing journalists at Sky Lounge, the DStv Marketing Manager, Phoebe Nakabazzi said, “DStv continues to deliver to its promise by providing great value for our customers. We understand what the World Cup tournament means to the customer a reason as to why we have chosen to go over and above in our delivery including our association with A+E Network International to launch an exciting 24 – hour pop up channel called, “History of Football” which provides great historical matches, interviews from footballs greats.

The channel is available to DStv Premium, Compact+ and Compact customers with 14 days of original, globally-focused premium documentary series, short form specials and a selection of FIFA World Cup films.”

The campaign is set to make customers inclusive through interactive activities that will see many customers win prizes. “We have included customer centric activities at the different shopping malls, supermarkets and our branches where customers stand a chance to win a number of prizes ranging from subscription, memorabilia, shopping vouchers and so much more. Every customer is a winner during this world cup season.” Phoebe added.

All the 64 matches of the World Cup will be broadcast on all DStv platforms and the customers will access live match commentary options in Pidgin and Swahili that fit well with East and West Africa. Additionally customers will access these matches via the DStv Now app and online at supersport .com. They can also watch Blitz channel for the regular games news updates.
According to Albert Nga, GOtv Marketing Manager, GOtv customers are not excluded from the World Cup fever. We have rolled out massive roadshows throughout the country and have literally brought the fun and excitement closer to the fans. Customers who either purchase the hardware at UGX 76,500 (full kit plus one month of GOtv Plus) or subscribe for GOtv Max (UGX49,000 per month) or GOtv Plus (UGX 26,000 per month) stand a chance to enter our cash machine to win instantly. He further noted, “GOtv customers for the first time will access all the 64 matches on GOtv Max and GOtv Plus bouquets. For those subscribed on GOtv Value will watch 56 matches and the highlights on Blitz. Everybody has been catered for.” added Albert.

Both DStv and GOtv will set up customer clinics in different locations throughout the city, where customers will be able to access services ranging from subscription, decoder repairs to consultancy. For one to enjoy all these experiences, one has to purchase a DStv full kit for 182,500/= fully installed with one month free Compact package subscription hardware at any of the MultiChoice outlets. Those already with decoders just need to renew their subscription to DStv Premium at Ugx 280,000, Ugx 180,000 Compact Plus and Ugx 115,000 Compact.
