MTN Uganda has launched the 2026 edition of its flagship employee volunteerism initiative, “21 Days of Y’ello Care,” under the theme “Expand Equitable Health For Every Community.” The campaign, which runs over the next three weeks, will see MTN employees across the country dedicate their time, skills, and expertise to supporting maternal and newborn healthcare in underserved communities.
The initiative was officially launched with a call to action: every mother and every child deserves access to quality healthcare, regardless of where they live.
Working alongside the government, healthcare workers, and local communities, the campaign will support health facilities in Bunyangabu, Gomba, Luuka, and Amudat districts. Activities will include community health camps, health worker training, maternal and child health awareness, digital health initiatives, facility upgrades, solar and water system installations, and enhanced neonatal care services.

Speaking at the launch, MTN Uganda Managing Director Phrase Lubega emphasized the power of employee volunteerism, noting that through Y’ello Care, MTN staff are extending their commitment beyond the business.
“Our employees are volunteering their time, skills, and energy to bring practical and dignified maternal and child health support closer to underserved communities,” Lubega said.
The Chief Guest, Hon. Dr. Charles Ayume, Minister of State for Health in charge of Primary Health Care, reaffirmed the importance of partnerships in strengthening health systems, building healthcare worker capacity, and improving access to quality care for mothers and newborns.

For 19 years, the Y’ello Care initiative has demonstrated what is possible when people unite around a shared purpose. This year, that purpose is helping create healthier communities and ensuring more mothers and babies have access to the care they deserve.
The 2026 campaign reinforces MTN Uganda’s commitment to leveraging its resources and employee expertise to address critical healthcare gaps, contributing to the broader goal of equitable health access for all Ugandans.
