At just 20 years old, Nakyanzi Rose already understands how quickly hardship can destroy everything a family depends on.
In Kasenge Nakawuka, the young farmer and mother of one worked hard to protect the small things holding her household together, her home, her livestock, and the future she hoped to build for her child.
But before Solar M7 arrived, darkness turned every night into worry.
Rose feared thieves targeting her cow and property under the cover of darkness. She feared fires spreading unnoticed at night. She feared sleeping too deeply because danger always felt close to the house.
For a young mother trying to build stability through farming, the nights felt emotionally exhausting.
Because when your livelihood depends on what you own, darkness can feel like an enemy.
Then Solar M7 arrived. And slowly, the fear began to disappear.
Today, reliable solar light surrounds Rose’s home after sunset. The household feels safer. Her livestock is easier to monitor. The fear of thieves moving unseen around the property has reduced dramatically. And for the first time in a long while, she sleeps with greater peace of mind knowing her family and livelihood are more protected.
For Rose, the transformation feels like security restored.
“Before Solar M7, nights were full of fear because we worried about thieves and danger around the home,” Rose shared during her interview. “Now the family feels safer, and I feel more peaceful protecting my child and our property.”
According to Doreen Nanfuka, many rural families experience constant emotional stress because darkness leaves homes and small livelihoods vulnerable.
“When households depend on farming and livestock for survival, security becomes extremely important,” Doreen explained. “Reliable light helps families feel protected and more confident about safeguarding what they have worked hard to build.”
Innocent Kawooya says stories like Rose’s show how energy access directly supports household security and economic stability.
“Reliable light helps families protect both their loved ones and their livelihoods,” he noted. “It restores peace of mind and creates safer environments for communities.”
Today, nights inside Rose’s home no longer feel ruled by fear.
The family sleeps more peacefully.
The livestock remains safer.
And in a household where darkness once threatened a young mother’s security and livelihood, Solar M7 is now helping restore something deeply valuable.
