For years, Babirye Merida’s nights in Kasenge Nakawuka were never truly peaceful.
The 59-year-old farmer worked hard every day to support herself and her family, but when evening arrived, rest remained difficult to find. To survive the darkness, the household depended on noisy alternatives that brought stress instead of comfort.
Generators disrupted the quiet of the night. Phone charging drained money constantly. And despite all the effort and expense, the home still felt trapped between inconvenience and exhaustion.
For Merida, darkness was costing more than money. It was stealing peace from her life. The noise interrupted sleep. The charging costs consumed savings. And every evening felt like another struggle simply to keep basic things functioning.
Then Solar M7 arrived. And suddenly, the atmosphere inside her home transformed completely.
Today, her house glows quietly beneath reliable solar light. Phones now charge safely from home without extra transport or daily costs. The loud generator noise has disappeared, replaced by calm evenings and peaceful rest after long days of work.
For Merida, the change feels deeply relieving.
“Before Solar M7, nights were stressful because of the generator noise and the money spent charging phones,” Merida shared during her interview. “Now the home is peaceful, the phones charge from here, and life feels much more comfortable.”
According to Doreen Nanfuka, many rural households quietly lose significant income and wellbeing through inefficient and expensive energy alternatives.
“When families rely on generators and external charging services, the financial burden grows over time,” Doreen explained. “Reliable solar light helps households save money while improving comfort and peace of mind.”
Innocent Kawooya says stories like Merida’s show how energy access directly improves household wellbeing and financial stability.
“Reliable light reduces unnecessary costs, supports communication, and creates more peaceful living conditions,” he noted. “It transforms daily life in practical and meaningful ways.”
Today, nights inside Merida’s home no longer feel noisy or exhausting.
The phones remain connected. The house rests quietly. And in a household where darkness once drained both comfort and savings, Solar M7 is now helping restore something deeply valuable.
