For many years, Estetuta Kabayaga feared what waited for her after sunset.
At 73 years old, far from her Toro roots and living in Kamengo, Mpigi District, the elderly grandmother carried loneliness quietly through her days. But it was during the nights that the emotional burden became unbearable.
Once darkness covered the house, silence seemed to change shape around her.
Every sound outside felt mysterious.
Every movement in the wind sounded frightening.
Sometimes, in the deep quiet of the night, Estetuta believed she heard voices moving through the darkness, voices she feared were spirits surrounding her home.
And because she lived much of her life alone with her thoughts, the fear slowly grew stronger over time.
Night after night, she prayed not simply for sleep.
But for protection. For comfort. For morning to come quickly. The darkness did more than frighten her.
It deepened the loneliness already sitting heavily inside her heart. And slowly, fear began invading even the moments where she sought spiritual peace.
Then Solar M7 arrived. And for the first time in many years, the nights inside her home began to feel gentle again.

“Before Solar M7, nights were frightening for me because darkness filled my mind with fear,” Estetuta shared during her interview. “Now I pray peacefully, sleep peacefully, and feel calm inside my home.”
According to Doreen Nanfuka, many elderly people living alone experience deep emotional and psychological distress worsened by darkness and isolation.
“When older people spend years living in fear after sunset, reliable light becomes emotionally healing,” Doreen explained. “It restores comfort, peace of mind, dignity, and emotional stability.”
Innocent Kawooya says stories like Estetuta’s reveal how energy access also supports mental and emotional wellbeing.
“Reliable light helps restore emotional peace to people who have spent years living with fear and isolation,” he noted. “It strengthens not only homes, but also the human spirit.”
Today, nights inside Estetuta’s home no longer feel haunted by fear and loneliness.
The darkness no longer controls her prayers. The silence no longer terrifies her. And in a life where fear once followed every sunset into the night, Solar M7 is now helping restore something deeply sacred.
